The Role
Temporary English-speaking Governess/Governor required for B4 & B6 in Lagos, Nigeria, salary £1300 gross per week. Start 19th December (3-week contract).
A family from London is travelling to Lagos, Nigeria for the Christmas period and is seeking a qualified, professional and experienced Governess/Governor for their two sons.
As a temporary Governess/Governor you will be responsible for the children’s education, ensuring all their homework is completed, offering further mentoring, and educational development. You will also plan fun activities for them in the local area. You will be required to encourage them to be as independent as possible with their learning and to promote a positive attitude toward self-development, organise routines and accompany the children to activities.
The Governess/Governor will act as an appropriate role model/mentor to the children and promote good manners and teach etiquette and a healthy lifestyle.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher holding a minimum of a PGCE/QTS or MA and have extensive experience working with the British Curriculum, along with previous experience of working in private households. The ability to speak a second language would be beneficial.
The working schedule is 6/1 with Sunday off, the approximate working hours will be 9 am – 7 pm.
This is a live-in position with a private bedroom provided within the family home.
This is a 3-week contract working over Christmas and New Year.
